In Bologna and other cities of the Emilia-Romagna-region since May intelligent disposal containers collect used electrical and electronic waste. The EU pilot project  „Identis WEEE“ is supposed to make WEEE tractable via High Tech disposal containers. The 3,5 Million Euro project is financially shared in-between the EU and by regional and international disposal companies.
