Battery-driven pocket lamps, bicycle lamps oder lighting chains: Manufacturer and importers of battery driven LED, lamps and luminairies should know the Batterie rule from december 2009 very well. Because everyone who firstly markets batteries in germany has to match the „Batteriegesetz“, and even then, when the batteries are just complementary to a main product.

The „BattG“ requires registration within the Ministry of Environment, which has to be executed from the first one to trade a certain (new) battery in germany. It requires garanteed disposal and labelling. Like with the ElektroG it’s mandatory according to BattG, that batteries (including lighting products) are not permitted to be traded before registration.
